For Specialists

Strategic Location in a Major Growth Corridor Opposite Sunshine Public Hospital

Sunshine Private Day Surgery is located within an extremely high growth area that will increasingly require good access to a comprehensive health and hospital service network. The population of greater Melbourne is projected to increase from 4.5m – 8.0m by 2051 with the western suburbs being among the highest current and future growth areas.

Getting to our site couldn't be easier, being less than 500 metres from the Western Ring Road and Ginifer Train Station, plus a bus stop at our front door.

In addition, Sunshine Private Day Surgery is located immediately directly opposite the Sunshine Public Hospital which makes our facility easily accessible for specialists with public lists to undertake their private work. Sunshine Public is an 800 bed, major teaching hospital with plans to expand to over 1000 beds to meet the needs of the rapidly growing west. Almost a full range of specialities are now provided at Sunshine Public Hospital.

Sunshine Private Day Surgery is immediately opposite Sunshine Public Hospital and the new Joan Kirner wing.

Our location is ideal for busy specialists who can undertake their public and private work without having to travel between sites.

Sunshine Private Day Surgery's catchment area includes the following western suburbs areas:

Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Keilor, Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Macedon Ranges, Maribyrnong, Moreland North, Sunbury, Tullamarine, Broadmeadows, Wyndham.

Our Plans for a New Major Private Hospital

Sunshine Private Day Surgery, together with Australian Unity (owner and developer of the land and building), is planning to develop a major overnight hospital on our site. Proposed plans include 150 overnight beds, 6 theatres, a cath lab, endoscopy services and full high acuity medical and surgical capabilities. This project is in planning stages, and has commenced with the purchase of a number of houses at the rear of the site to facilitate expansion.
